The stars of film and television gather tonight to celebrate the official kick-off of the 2023 awards season at the Golden Globes.
The HFPA gala event, held at the Beverly Hilton, was attended by directors Rian Johnson, Tim Burton and actresses Britt Lower, Megan Stalter, Jamie Lee Curtis and Sheryl Lee Ralph, all staying in a tent over the Red Sea because of the storm surges. Carpet rained in Los Angeles.
The three-hour NBC show will be presented by Jerrod Carmichael and Golden Globe winner and six-time nominee Eddie Murphy receive the 2023 Cecil B. DeMille Award. Five-time Golden Globe winner and 16-time nominee Ryan Murphy receives the Carol Burnett Award.
In the ballroom, the stars line up for a three-course meal that starts with a grapefruit salad, Icelandic salmon or butternut squash for starters and ends with a limoncello dome for dessert. This year’s menu, created by Beverly Hilton’s Executive Chef Matthew Morgan, features local Southern California ingredients and fresh, responsibly farmed Icelandic salmon. In addition, any extra food that cannot be used during the Golden Globes will be donated to the Hollywood Food Coalition.
