The semi-autobiographical film from 2002 8 miles followed a young rapper, based on and performed by Marshal Mathersor Eminem, while coping with growing up in a tough Detroit neighborhood and striving to achieve his rap dreams amid every obstacle that placed his way. The film was a critical and box office success and launched an already popular Eminem into another category of fame, that of an actor.
In a recent interview with Big Boy, rapper and actor Curtis Jacksonor 50 centshe said he’s going to bring 8 miles on TV, and Eminem is involved. He said:
“I will bring 8 miles On TV. We are on the move.
He confirmed Eminem is on board in some capacity and teased that “it’s going to be big.” When asked for more details about the project, 50 Cent said he plans to work on a television adaptation of the Curtis Hanson-directed, film starring Eminem because he “should be there for his legacy.”
“It’s important to me that they understand that,” he added, and compared the approach to that of the 2022 series Bel Airwhich is a dramatic reimagining of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. He went on to say:
“I’m also going to do the Snoop story, even though we stopped because of Starz. I was having trouble with them over there at the time. So I stopped Murder was the casebut I think Snoop is… if the OJ process works, why shouldn’t it Murder was the case does it work at this point?”
