It is not for nothing that James Cameron has become the most profitable and box office successful director in the world. And is that now, with ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, he is the director with three films on the list of the highest-grossing films of all time, and his latest sci-fi installment has already been able to overtake ‘Avengers’ , the title that first brought Marvel superheroes to the screen.
James Cameron continues to make history, because ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ has already passed ‘avengers’ in the top 10 highest-grossing films of all time. The sci-fi film managed to collect more than $1.519 million worldwide, surpassing the Marvel film’s $1.546 million. A historical figure, but one that is still far from reaching its first part.

James Cameron, the most successful director
With all the success that ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ had, James Cameron becomes the only director to have 3 films in the Top 10 highest grossing films in the history of cinema. The first part of his Na’vi saga is the one that leads the list, and it will be very difficult for someone to remove it in the following years, and under “Titanic”, the phenomenon starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.
And although it’s still a few weeks away, “Avatar: The Way of Water” is unlikely to be a top 10 box office hit. However, Cameron could surprise, and we will have to wait a few more days to find out how far he is able to go in the space odyssey proposed by the director of ‘Aliens 2’.
At present, Cameron is finishing up the last details of ‘Avatar 3’, of which he said he has two versions, and one of them could be 9 hours long. While he hopes to record the fourth and fifth films very close together and almost simultaneously, to avoid the “Stranger Things effect”, in which his protagonists grew up.
