Henry Cavill’s career has taken a major upheaval in recent months, between being fired as Superman from the next installment of the DC Extended Universe and deciding to retire from ‘The Witcher’, he’s been left without his most iconic roles. Since then many rumors have surfaced about him joining other franchises, and the most recent one is that he will participate in ‘Hobbs & Shaw 2’ alongside Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham.
According to the site Gian Freakin Robot, who in the past has been in charge of leaking information from Marvel and DC, ensures that Henry Cavill is in talks to join ‘Hobbs & Shaw 2’, the spin-off of the ‘Fast and Furious’ series. It should be remembered that this story stars Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, with Idris Elba as the villain.
The talks are allegedly well advanced, and media sources assure this Henry Cavill would share the screen with Dwayne Johnson again, after seeing them in the controversial ending of ‘Black Adam’ where Superman’s return was hinted at, until James Gunn changed things around. It wouldn’t be unreasonable to see Netflix’s ‘Enola Holmes’ actor in another one of Hollywood’s current big franchises.
It is worth mentioning that so far nothing is official, but just in case Henry Cavill joins the franchise of ‘Fast & Furious’ in ‘Hobbs & Shaw 2’, would add another of the great sagas to his career. Superman, Geralt de Rivia, Sherlock Holmes and the upcoming role of ‘Warmhammer 40k’ for Amazon Prime Video are some of the recent big names that the actor has participated in.

Henry Cavill and Dwayne Johnson meet again
The ending of “Black Adam” has left DC fans hoping to return to Henry Cavill as Superman. However, plans soon revealed that continuity of him would be stripped entirely. But the event only proved that Dwayne Johnson did everything he could to see Cavill again, even if it meant some trouble with Warner execs.
According to the Giant Freakin Robot medium, the delay of ‘Hobbs & Shaw 2’ is due to the fact that both actors have very difficult agendas to match, and would be looking for a way that the entire cast planned for the sequel could meet. At the moment, it is known that the second part of the film will begin its production until 2024.
For now there is no more information about “Hobbs & Shaw 2” and if true, Henry Cavill could play a villain for the first time in his career. Plus, with the possibility of having powers in this universe, he maybe he’ll even play the counterpart he had in DC to a Superman villain, though there’s still a long time to find out.
