Unsurprisingly, Disney swooped in to reclaim the world’s number one studio title last year, as this is its seventh consecutive year to hit the highest numbers in both domestic and worldwide box office sales. It brought in $4.9 billion worldwide, from $2 billion domestic and $2.9 billion overseas.

Disney has had 16 theatrical releases, including four of the eight best films of 2022 in the United States with Avatar: The Way of Water, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness and Thor: Love and thundercontributing to an estimated 27% domestic market share.

Disney also had four of the eight best films worldwide Avatar: The Way of Water, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Thor: Love and thunder.

It’s been a good year for Disney, and they don’t seem to be slowing down, with many of the most anticipated films heading into 2023 under the Disney umbrella. What movies are you looking forward to this year?
