Shannon Sharpe Skips Hosting ‘Indisputable’ After Skip Bayless’ Co-Host Damar Hamlin Tweeted

Shannon Sharpe seemed to send a clear message to his parents incontestable co-host, skip no bay, when he skipped the Jan. 3 episode of the show. While the reason for Shannon’s absence has not been given, Skip’s insensitive tweet is speculated to be about Damar Hamlin was the reason for the decision. Skip received a huge backlash for its Jan. 2 release crybabydebating whether or not the NFL would postpone the Buffalo Bills vs. Cincinnati Bengals game after Damar collapsed on the field and was taken away in an ambulance.

Skip Bayless is hosting Undisputed alone, since Shannon Sharpe hasn’t shown up.

“No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game, but how?” Skip tweeted. “At the end of the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular season result…which suddenly seems so irrelevant.” Skip has been criticized by fans for putting the NFL season ahead of Damar’s health. The 24-year-old passed out on the field after being tackled. Medical workers performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation for ten minutes and finally took Damar from the field in an ambulance. It was confirmed that he went into cardiac arrest and was sedated in hospital, where he remains in critical condition. The NFL ended up postponing the rest of the game.

Just hours after Skip’s tweet went viral (for all the wrong reasons), it only appeared on incontestable. “We’re going to try to run the show pretty much like we usually do,” Skip said. “I will admit upfront that I am still in shock over what happened last night with Damar Hamlin. In fact, I’m devastated. In fact, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to do this program today, but after getting very little sleep, I decided to give it a try. We wrestled most of the night thinking about whether or not we should play a show today because we felt that, in our minds, we could barely win with this one. The last thing we want is to appear insensitive to what this young man is going through in a life or death situation.

Skip concluded his introductory message with a brief mention of Shannon’s absence. “Obviously my partner Shannon Sharpe isn’t here today,” he said. “Hope to see you tomorrow.” He didn’t explain why Shannon wasn’t there.

After the reaction to the Jan. 2 tweet surfaced, Skip responded Twitter with message attached. “Nothing is more important than this young man’s health,” she shared. “That was the point of my last tweet. “Sorry if this was misunderstood, but your health is all that matters. Again, everything else is irrelevant. I have prayed for him and will continue to pray.”
