Actor Charlie Cox has been very active in answering questions about his new appearance as Matt Murdock for the Disney+ series. Now, he’s confirmed one of the details many fans have been expecting to see, “Daredevil: Born Again” would not be an adaptation of the comic book of the same name written by Frank Miller, as expected.

In an interview for iNews, Charlie Cox said it ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ It’s not an adaptation of the comic., but it will have a very different tone from Matt Murdock’s Disney+ series ‘She Hulk’. “The only way I’m going to change is if, tonally, the show is very different,” the actor said.

As for the series as an adaptation, Charlie Cox warns him ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ not the story of Frank Miller brought to Disney+, “I don’t think anyone should be reading the name in regards to what kind of stories we’re going to be telling.” The title of the reboot is rather a reference to that arc in Marvel comics, in which Karen Page sells Matt Murdock’s secret to the Kingpin, and which, in part, served as the inspiration for the third season on Netflix.

It seems that Marvel Studios is once again taking the name of one of the most important comics from the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, to refer to it in its cinematic universe, as has happened with major events such as ‘Captain America: Civil War’, or ‘ Avengers: Infinity War’, name inherited directly from the pages. In this sense, ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ It’s just a reference to the comic..

What is Frank Miller’s “Daredevil: Born Again” about?

Part of Frank Miller’s “Born Again” event was revived for Netflix’s “Daredevil,” albeit with some changes. In the comic, Karen Page falls to the bottom when she sells the secret that Matt Murdock is a night watchman. Wilson Fisk finds out and Karen gets money to continue her addiction, while Matt is now in danger.

However, Wilson Fisk doesn’t set out to end Matt Murdock’s cold life, but instead brings it to its nadir, slowly destroying every aspect of Matt, until he is left, hopelessly, a wanderer on the streets. That’s when some Avengers arrive and the lawyer rises from the ashes to dress up again and save Hells Kitchen.

Indeed, “Daredevil: Born Again” is one of the best comics in the history of the medium and Frank Miller together with David Mazuchelli made one of the most important and acclaimed stories of the red vigilante of Hell’s Kitchen. That’s why fans were very excited to finally see this story arc adapted to the small screen, in the series that will air until 2024 on Disney+.
