The casting of Finn Jones like Iron Fist never really clicked with the fans. He looked completely wrong in the role and just didn’t have what it took to play this character properly. The actor didn’t even know how to fight properly and the fight scenes in the movie are some of the worst we’ve ever seen in a Marvel production.

In fact, Iron Fist’s stunt coordinator said that Finn Jones didn’t even want to train for his fight scenes! He said, “Everyone’s arguing and the actor doesn’t want to train and… ‘Guys, throw me a bone. Give me something to work with here.’ This is probably why the best sequences were with Jessica Henwick because he trained four hours a day and had no martial arts experience.”

When Jones was initially cast in the role, many fans sparked their outrage online, and at the time Jones called out fans saying they were “unfair” and “unfair” and told them, “Don’t get mad and start a mob when you haven’t even — you haven’t even seen the show!

When Iron Fist finally premiered, Marvel fans really didn’t care and there was a lot of negativity. The show’s first season even has a 20% critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Many fans believe that the series would have been much better with another actor in the lead role of Danny Rand.

Well, regardless of how fans are feeling, Finn Jones would love the opportunity to play Iron Fist again saying he wants to “prove all those motherfuckers wrong.” During an interview with Geekscape, Jones was asked if he wanted to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Iron Fist, and this was his response:

“I’d love another chance. I care deeply about Danny Rand, I believe in that character, I think there’s a lot of work to do. There’s something about the underdog, you know? I love the underdog narrative. I love the ability to show that somebody is wrong, and i want to prove all them motherfuckers wrong.i know i have it in me and i know i can give the danny rand performance that the fans want and thats possible.

Yes, he had his chance and it didn’t work out. If he cares that deeply about the character, he should make sure it goes to an actor who can actually bring the character to life properly because Jones has already proven he’s not right for the role.

I don’t know, maybe I’m too harsh? Jones goes on to defend the work of actors and filmmakers who are “trying to manifest something positive” against negativity, saying, “What people need to realize is that we are all well-meaning people who are trying to create art in the world. The level of hate being poured out on artists and creatives if maybe it doesn’t go in the direction they had hoped – it’s like they just created a genocide, you know?”

Ultimately, many fans feel that Jones was not the right actor for the role of Danny Rand. It’s over now, though, and I don’t think he’ll get the opportunity to play Iron Fist again. But I’ll be watching Jessica Henwick play Colleen Wing all day! She was awesome!
