Denis Villeneuve is another one of those masters of plot twists, and one of his best examples is in ‘Incendies’, a foreign thriller. The story follows two brothers whose mother entrusts them with the mission of making their ultimate dream come true, delivering a letter to the father they thought was dead and another to the brother they didn’t know they had.
The maid
Park Chan-Wook is also one of the best directors when it comes to plot twists, you just have to see what he did with the story of ‘The Maiden’. The story is set in Korea during the Japanese colonization. Where a young woman is hired as a servant for a powerful woman, and that she associates with an alleged Japanese count to defraud the woman.
The fog
Probably one of the most brutal and tragic twists to be seen in the history of cinema, is found in ‘The Fog’. Unlike Stephen King’s book, the outcome of this story is extremely heartbreaking, as supermarket survivors manage to escape a hopeless fate, surrounded by some of the most impressive monsters.
