Amazon Prime Video confirmed that all eight episodes of the second season will release simultaneously on October 21, 2026, across more than 240 countries and territories, including Spain.

The release of the trailer follows the recent unveiling of initial first look images for the upcoming season, which shifts the show into an international espionage thriller.

Plot and storyline details

The second season adapts True Believer, the second book in the saga written by author Jack Carr. Viewers have waited for the character's return since the initial season launched in 2022.

The story begins after Commander Reece completes his personal revenge list from the first season. Following the completion of his vengeance, the narrative undergoes a major shift, moving away from action revenge into an international espionage plot.

This new mission carries the protagonist across multiple global locations, including the Indian Ocean, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. The trailer reveals that Reece must confront an international conspiracy connecting Moscow to Langley.

The unfolding conspiracy also features personal stakes for the protagonist, as it shares direct links with his own family history. Reece is forced back into motion while attempting to discover who is behind the threat and how it relates to his past.

Cast and production team

Pratt is joined by several returning cast members for the new season. Tom Hopper returns as Raife Hastings, Constance Wu reprises her role as Katie Buranek, Dar Salim returns as Mohammed Farooq, and Luke Hemsworth returns as Jules Landry.

Actor Gabriel Luna joins the series as new cast member Freddy Strain. The international ensemble cast also includes Costa Ronin, Olga Kurylenko, Yul Vazquez, Martin Sensmeier, Arnold Vosloo, and Shiraz Tzarfati.

The production maintains its commitment to realistic military action scenes, which served as a defining hallmark of the original season. Former Navy SEAL member Jared Shaw and former United States Army Ranger Max Adams continue to supervise the action and military aspects of the show.

Additional military veterans participate across the production team, working as writers, actors, technical advisers, and directors to maintain authenticity throughout the episodes.

Background and context

The Terminal List originally premiered on Amazon Prime Video in July 2022 as an adaptation of Jack Carr's 2018 debut novel. The first season followed Reece as he investigated a high level conspiracy surrounding the ambush of his entire platoon during a covert mission.

Pratt, who also serves as an executive producer on the series, is known for leading major film franchises, including Marvel Studios Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy and the Jurassic World series. Author Carr is a former Navy SEAL task unit commander who drew on his tactical military background to write the book series.

The mention of Langley refers to Langley, Virginia, the location of the headquarters of the Central Intelligence Agency, placing the season's storyline between American intelligence and Russian authorities in Moscow.
