Actress Anna Faris has confirmed she is now sober, roughly two months after an animated red carpet appearance in Los Angeles raised concern among fans.
Discussing her health on Chelsea Handler's Dear Chelsea podcast this week, the 49-year-old Scary Movie actress revealed that she has stopped drinking alcohol and started using a hormone patch to manage her mood.
"It turns out there's a correlation between drinking and depression for me for sure," Faris explained during the podcast episode.
She added that starting on the hormone patch has made a "huge difference" for her, noting that she took a "step back" from drinking in order to "not self-sabotage."
It remains unclear precisely when Faris stopped drinking, as she did not elaborate further on her timeline. Management for Faris has been contacted by Daily Mail for comment.
Red Carpet Premiere Sparks Fan Concern
The disclosure follows public reaction to Faris walking the red carpet in June to promote her comeback role in Scary Movie 6. A video recorded at the film's Los Angeles premiere went viral online, showing the star appearing animated and expressive during media interviews.
Her appearance and behavior divided fans. While some expressed concern for her health, others suggested the actress was simply nervous performing press duties after a long break from the spotlight.
"Love her, but really worried about her health here. I hope she's okay," one observer wrote.
Another fan commented, "This doesn't look like her normal self at all. I've watched her in interviews in the past and I've watched her show Mom several times. Her mouth is really weird. I really hope she is ok."
A third worried follower posted, "I'm so sorry, I'm not trying to be unkind but I hope that Anna is doing well. She seems not all there," while another added, "Don’t get me wrong she seems sweet but something’s off."
However, other supporters defended The House Bunny star. "She's just expressing her emotions and her son is there," one fan wrote, referring to her young son who attended the event with her.

Faris was previously married to actor Chris Pratt. The former couple eloped in 2009 and welcomed their son in 2012 before separating in 2017 and finalizing their divorce the following year.
