Made In Chelsea stars Ollie and Gareth Locke have shared the heartbreaking news that their surrogate has suffered a second miscarriage.
The couple shared the sad news during the E4 show’s Bali special on Tuesday, with Ollie admitting he felt “disgusted” that they hadn’t been able to conceive.
It came just days after Ollie and Gareth announced their surrogate had become pregnant following her third round of IVF, after the couple suffered a miscarriage last year when they were six weeks pregnant during their first round of fertility treatments.
Ollie said: “We just can’t believe it’s happened again.”
Gareth added: “This is our third time. Every time it’s like… “Well, next time it will definitely happen.” It feels like you have to do it every time, it feels like it’s a little bit, a step further away.

As her devastated co-stars opened a bottle of champagne in celebration, an emotional Gareth was seen wiping away tears.
Despite the joy of expecting another baby, Ollie and Gareth – who have been together since 2018 and married since 2020 – revealed in the next episode that their surrogate had suffered a miscarriage.

Gareth added: “This is our third time. You know it’s 60 percent. 70 percent chance of whatever and every time it’s like… “Well, next time it will definitely happen.”
“It feels like every time you have to repeat it, it’s a little bit, a step further.”
“Obviously we are in a very fortunate position, we can walk again. But you know it’s not easy.’

Ollie then said frankly: “May I also tell you something very cruel? And it’s a weird, personal thing, and I know I shouldn’t feel that way.
“And I know that, but I’m so shy. I haven’t even called my dad yet. Because I’m ashamed…
“And I’m telling you, oddly enough, it’s because I feel exposed. And I know it’s really stupid, but I’m being honest with you here, and I know I shouldn’t feel that way, but I’m ashamed that I don’t didn’t work for us.
“And it’s so stupid, but I’m just waiting long enough for someone to tell Dad so I don’t have to.
“But embarrassment is such a strange feeling, if it’s real it should be the last thing on your mind.”

In December 2021, Ollie and Gareth announced that their first attempt to have a baby via surrogate had been unsuccessful after she miscarried at six weeks.
Ollie explained that after her surrogate found out they were pregnant in November, she unfortunately miscarried at six weeks.
He wrote: “Trigger warning. That’s the last thing I want to write, but unfortunately it’s part of our journey.
“In early November our lives changed in the most extraordinary and wonderful way, those two perfect lines shining through a pregnancy test telling us we were pregnant and Gareth, myself, our surrogate and our families were all thrilled.

Quitting: “It feels like you have to repeat it every time, it feels like it’s a bit, a step further,” Gareth continued

Tough time: Ollie then admitted he felt “wrecked” after his surrogate miscarried
“After a difficult year, a bean growing into the best person was the best early Christmas present we could have imagined.
“Due to the course of nature, it stopped growing after six weeks and two days and was gone.”
Ollie went on to say that this is not the “end of the road” for the couple, saying they continue to “move” towards fatherhood and see a “silver lining”.
He continued: “This will not be the end of the road, we actually have great plans and we will continue to achieve the remarkable gift of fatherhood.
“Your support has been amazing and I’ve read every DM you’ve sent and thank you for being so kind to Gareth, me and our heavenly replacement!

Tragedy: In December 2021, Ollie and Gareth revealed that their first attempt at having a baby had been successful. The surrogate was unsuccessful after he miscarried at six weeks
“It is with the deepest sadness that we will always look to a silver lining which is the shining beacon of a community we have found, who are all on the same journey as us and trying to have the family they so desire and to earn. Your support has been remarkable!’
The miscarriage comes after her first attempt to have a baby through IVF last year was unsuccessful.
Ollie, who met partner Gareth a decade ago before they started dating in 2018, also said they don’t want another couple to go through the heartbreak and financial challenges they are going through.
He said: “I will therefore pledge to do everything in my power to draw attention to UK laws being changed to make it easier for people desperate to start a family!
“The rules, which have not been revised for more than 30 years, are extremely unfair, currently fiercely anti-gay and beyond archaic.
“Why would a government allow equal marriage but make it heartbreakingly difficult and terrifyingly expensive to raise a family? I will do whatever it takes to get the conversation going on a law change modernization!
“Love you all and let’s hope 2022 will be a year we all deserve, with babies who love to be born!
“Gareth and I, with great support and love from Channel 4 and Monkey Kingdom, have decided to play last night’s final scene as we feel it is part of our journey that we will continue to share with you as we all share love and they transmit power at the same time.’
