Wonder Years actress Danica McKellar takes a stand for Candace Cameron Bure after her ‘traditional marriage’ comments

Danica McKellar downplayed the comments Candace Cameron Bure made about traditional marriage during a recent interview with Fox News.

When asked about her co-star Neal Bledsoe’s decision to distance herself from Neighbors and the network, the 47-year-old The Wonder Years star said she would not do the same.

Neal is a wonderful person. He is such a great actor and I enjoyed working with him so much,” she said. He and I share our love and support for [the] LGBT community, sure. You know, I don’t agree with his interpretation of her comments. I just didn’t see them the same way.

She continued, “When she discussed the portrayal of straight couples in movies, she started the sentence with ‘I think,’ which is not final, and she ended with ‘substantial,’ which means non-exclusive. .”

Last month, the 46-year-old Full House star announced that she was leaving the Hallmark Channel party because of the stories she shared.

“My heart wants to tell stories that have more meaning, purpose and depth,” she explained. “I knew the people behind Great American Family were Christians who loved the Lord and wanted to promote faith programs and good family entertainment.”

“Not definitive”: “When discussing the portrayal of straight couples in films, she began the sentence with ‘I think,’ which is not definitive, and she ended with ‘essentially,’ which means non-exclusive, said McKellar (photo 2021) )

She later added that she thought “the great American family would keep traditional marriage at its core.”

Great American Family is a cable television network that airs family-oriented programming similar to Hallmark.

Celebrities like JoJo Siwa and Maren Morris were quick to call Bure’s comments homophobic, and the Los Angeles native issued another statement defending herself.

“Anyone who knows me knows without a doubt that I have great love and affection for all people,” she told Fox News Digital. “It absolutely breaks my heart that anyone would ever think I was intentionally trying to offend and hurt someone.”

One Tree Hill star even called Bure a “bigger one,” saying, “I don’t remember Jesus liking hypocrites like Candy.” Certainly. Earn your money honey. You are riding this wave of prejudice to the shore,” in one tweet.

Her comments did not reassure Bledsoe, who announced that he would no longer work with the company.
