The actors received unexpected attention.
The director of the legendary film, Alexey Balabanov, strived for maximum authenticity in his work. Therefore, he often shot in natural conditions, attracted non-professional actors and used personal belongings of the participants in the picture. Forced to experiment and a very limited budget.
With Yuri Kuznetsov, who played the German, the director went even further. His film partners were real homeless people, they did not even suspect that their partner was a famous actor who had played “Brother” in many popular Soviet films. For them, he was the same bum, hired for “penny” for filming a movie.
A similar story happened with Sergei Murzin, who quite naturally played the authority of Krugly. After the success of the picture, people from criminal circles considered it unworthy that the hero drives an old “five”, and gave him a foreign car, Culturology reports.
