Nicolas Cage, 58, will host his 27-year-old wife, Riko Shibata, and a daughter, who will be named Lennon Augie.

Nicolas Cage has revealed the gender of his first child with wife Riko Shibata.

“I’m going to have a daughter,” the 58-year-old actor said during his appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Thursday, April 12.

Cage also shared that he and 27-year-old Shibata decided to name their daughter Lennon Augie in honor of the late John Lennon and Cage’s late father, August “Augie” Coppola.

Explaining the meaning behind the name, Cage recalled how his disc jockey father allegedly blew up the Beatles’ album Let It Be, specifically the song Across The Universe, on the radio station.

When the National Treasure first heard the song at the age of four, he was “frozen, paralyzed by the music”.

Since then, Across The Universe, written by John Lennon, has become Cage’s “favorite song ever written” and holds a special place in his heart.

“Because of Across The Universe, his name will be Lennon Augie, Augie will be my father,” he said.

Expected: In January, it was revealed that Cage and Shibata are expecting their first child, and Weston and his 16-year-old son, Kal-El, are expecting Cage’s third child after his third marriage to Alice Kim.

Cage noted that he expected to call his daughter “Lenny for short”.

Cage and Shibata met through mutual friends in Shiga, Japan, while Cage was filming Prisoners of the Ghostland.

The couple started this week with a special screening of Cage’s new movie The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.

Cage, 57, was smiling while walking the red carpet with his 27-year-old pregnant wife, whom he married in 2021.
