Wayne Brady hosted the 2022 AMAs on a night where Lionel Richie received the Icon Award. Richie was honored with performances by Stevie Wonder, Puth and Ari Lennox.
Ahead of the presentation, Brady said, “I’m excited and honored to host this year’s AMAs. As a musician and music lover, it’s great to be a part of a night where music fans raise their voices! It’s such a great show I record everything… the fun, the music and the moves!”

Bad Bunny was the most nominated artist with eight nominations, including Artist of the Year. In this category, the “Me Porto Bonito” singer would compete against Adele, Beyoncé, Drake, Harry Styles, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd.
