When the incident happened on Sunday, Jay spoke with tmz extension on his wounds and confirmed that they were “third degree” burns. He told the agency he was working on the 115-year-old car to fix a “clogged fuel line” when it caught fire. Gasoline splashed on his face and hands, but luckily his friend, dave, was close to help. Jay’s friend “jumped on him” to “put out” the flames and possibly saved his life.
