Molly Meldrum made a rare public appearance on Monday’s This Is Your Life.

The 79-year-old music legend appeared in good spirits, despite some issues, to speak in a pre-recorded video in honor of the evening’s honoree, Tina Arena.

“Hi Tine! This is your friend, boring old Molly,” the former Countdown host said in the short clip.

“Oh my god, I’m not leaving you alone, Tina. You and I have been friends for a very, very, very long time,” he continued.

Molly then joked about the parties the couple attended, joking: “I won’t say a word, everyone played… Bulls**t!”

“Do yourself a favor and have a great night,” he concluded.

“There is someone who really gave an enormous amount to the arts in this country. He has always been incredibly supportive, an extraordinary man.”

Molly has rarely been seen in public since her horrific fall at home in December 2011.

The beloved TV icon suffered a fractured skull, brain swelling, broken shoulders, ribs and vertebrae in the accident.

He spent five weeks in a coma in intensive care, fighting for his life, but somehow managed to pull through and recover.

The former Countdown presenter later admitted the accident forced him to admit he wasn’t “bulletproof”.

“You realize life is short,” he told New Idea magazine last July.

“I was very lucky to have a lot of wonderful people who looked after me at the time of the accident and afterwards, which was a real blessing.

“I also learned a lot from the patients in the hospital. It was humbling to hear their stories, the hardships they endured.”
