Gedeon Burkhard starred in the most popular TV series Commissioner Rex from 1998 to 2001, replacing Tobias Moretti, the owner of the Rex sheepdog. The audience immediately fell in love with the actor and called him the cutest hero of the whole show.
After “Commissioner Rex”, Burkhard continued to act in German cinema. His major career success in the following years was his role in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds, where he played Corporal Wilhelm Wicca.
Little is known about his personal life. He was married to American journalist Bridget Cunningham for about four months, but then divorced her. He later had a daughter, Joya, with model Filomena Iannakone.
