Alison Brahe Daddo was candid about her rape at a young age and revealed that she had kept it a secret for years after being told she “deserved it”.
The 52-year-old former model previously discussed the attack in her book Queen Menopause: Finding Your Majesty in the Mayhem, but shared new details about the ordeal with Jess Rowe this week on The Big Talk Show.
The mother of three said she was only 17 when she took her home after she was abused by two men at a party in Japan and then raped by another man.
Alison Brahe Daddo (pictured) describes teenage rape and reveals she’s kept it a secret for years after being told she “deserves it”.
Describing the touching story, she said that while she was working in the country as a teen model, she was invited to a party in Japan by a “beautiful English girl” with whom she lived.
“There is a very strange scene there. No dear. It’s kind of like the wild, wild west of modeling because there are no parents, no adults to keep up with what’s going on out there.
“I just turned 17. Again, I was very, very young and very alone, away from home for the first time, and was invited to this party by a girl and my model… It’s like a model hostel,” she continued.
“She was an English girl, a sweet English girl, and for some reason we were always together.”

Alison was modeling in Japan at the time of the attack when she was just 17 years old. She was pictured over 23 on the cover of Dolly magazine.

A young Alison and their then-boyfriend, Cameron Daddo, were photographed together shortly after they moved to America in their twenties.
Alison went on to explain that she “didn’t even know the hosts of the party” but left as she was still expecting a fun night out, but it soon took a dark turn.
“I’m sitting on the couch talking to you. Then all of a sudden two other male models ran up to us, physically picked me up, pushed me into the closet in the middle of the party, and then touched my boobs and my vagina.
“They stuck their tongues down my throat or they grabbed me, they both did.”

The former model revealed that Jess Rowe was thrown in the closet by two men at a party and attempted by another man before being taken home and raped.
Alison revealed that she wore a completely “long-sleeved T-shirt and jeans” but was told she was “asked” because of what she was wearing.
It sounds so cliché because you hear it all the time, but I actually said to myself: ‘You deserve it. Look what you’re wearing.
“So when I scream, the music stops, I scream and move.
‘This guy comes in and says ‘Get off him!’ says. and drag the two children away. And I go out and I’m totally shocked, totally shocked.

Alison was spotted with her husband, Cameron, on their wedding day in 1992.
“I don’t know anyone else in the room. And he said, “Do you want to get out of here?” I said, “Yeah, yes, I do. I just want to go home.”
“It was a long way from home. We had to take the train and then we had to walk and so he was chatting with me and it was really cool.’
Alison revealed she believed the man had “delivered her safely” to her apartment, before saying she would “come”.
“It was my fault. So he went in and then continued to rape me,” she continued.

Alison was one of the biggest exporters of Australian models in the 1980s. Pictured here on the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine in 1987, she.
“He was actually a boxer, even a professional boxer. So for a long time I didn’t think it was rape because I let it happen.
“I didn’t react because I was already in shock about what had happened and it saved me a bit, so it was a really confusing experience… it got me out of a terrible situation and now it has brought me home. How can I say no? I thought, “No, I don’t want, I don’t want, I don’t want,” and then I shut up. I did not say anything.
“So I lifted it, took it out, but locked it under the bed. I just didn’t revisit it for many, many years.
The model added that he touched her and “tryed to covet her.”

Alison first revealed details about the attack in her new book, Queen Menopause: Finding Her Majesty in Mayhem, which came out in May.
‘I never wanted to look sexy. I changed my dressing style. That’s how I became very “do not look men in the eye”.
‘Actually, I’m still struggling with it. So if I meet someone and get introduced to it, it’s fine. But my eyes are closed and I don’t look because I don’t want to invite anything.’
She added that she didn’t tell her husband, Cameron Daddo, until she was 28.
“I finally explained it in therapy. I met him when I was 20.
“So eight years later and yes. So I talked about it in therapy and then we cried a lot together.
The model added that it took her “a long time” to tell her family and didn’t tell the kids until after the book was written.

The heartbreaking revelation came after Alison shared how menopause leads to physical insecurities.
The teacher recently told Body + Soul that she had gained weight and was worried that her husband, 57, would no longer find her attractive for the body change.
“For example, I know Cam’s love language is physical. That’s what she wants and needs and how safe she feels with me,” she said.
“Most of my distaste for the shape of my body had to do with what I thought Cam wanted or what Cam liked. Once he told me that he didn’t care if I was fat and that he loved me as a person, I was more concerned with my judgment of myself.”
Over time, Alison began to accept her new form, but she says there were still tough times when she wasn’t sure of herself.
There are days when I say, “You’re just a 52-year-old beautiful girl with a big belly,” and then I put on a pair of jeans and think, “Oh my God, I look like I’m six months pregnant.” , I can’t stand it. against.” I still go back and forth with him,” she said.

“I am now very aware of what women are taught about body shapes. They are consistently defined by how they look. You just have to love the way you are.’
Alison was an It girl in the 1990s and has graced the covers of dozens of magazines throughout her successful modeling career.
He and Cameron were married in 1991 and have three children together, daughters Lotus, 24, and Bodhi, 14, and a son, River, 20.
The couple celebrated their last 30th wedding anniversary.
Insecure: “Most of the things I didn’t like about my body shape had to do with what I thought Cam wanted or liked,” she said.
