Bindi Irwin shared sad news with fans on Thursday, announcing the death of a beloved “family member”.
The 24-year-old Wildlife Warrior revealed that the family’s 38-year-old echidna had died, and Bindi shared a photo gallery of the animal.
Bindi’s emotional message began as she said goodbye to our beautiful 38-year-old relative.

“The sweetest, kindest and most beautiful echidna you’ve ever met.”
He added “Rest in peace my angel” next to a love heart emoji.
One fan below commented, “Sorry for your loss.”
Another added: “Rest in peace little echidna.”

“Say goodbye to our beautiful 38-year-old relative,” an excited Bindi wrote.

Known to millions around the world as the “crocodile hunter”, Steve died at the age of 44 on September 4, 2006, after being stabbed in the chest by a stingray while filming a documentary on Batt Reef, Queensland.
Bindi was only eight years old at the time.

The Irwin family recently announced the launch of The Crocodile Hunter Lodge.
The lodge is where Australia Zoo guests stay overnight, and it’s always been Steve’s dream.
“This is an exciting time as a family to move forward with my father’s vision of the Australia Zoo,” Bindi said.
Terri added that Steve has always dreamed that visitors could have an immersive experience.
