Brendan Fraser needs oversized clothes now. The Mummy star decided to get incredibly fat to fit his character in Darren Aronofsky’s new movie. And such extreme measures are very understandable.
Frazier gained up to 272 kilograms in weight to appear in the title role of the film “The Whale”. For an acting career, this role can prove to be a lifeline, because Aronofsky (Black Swan, Requiem for a Dream, Mom!) knows how to show the talents of actors from an unexpected side. And Frazier hasn’t been cast in a major project since 2019. For this reason, the actor has high hopes for the film.
“This is certainly far from anything I’ve ever done, but I won’t be humble…I know this will make a lasting impression,” Fraser admitted to Variety.
In The Whale, the actor plays a reclusive teacher who tries to make contact with his daughter. The film will premiere at the Venice Film Festival, which will take place from August 31 to September 10.
