Nick Cave writes emotional open letter to parents of Luca Bish under fire

Nick Cave pays homage to controversial Love Island contestant Luca Bish after the fisherman’s parents backed him in the wake of the tragic death of his teenage son.

In an open letter Friday morning, Australian singer Cave surprised fans by revealing the close bond Luca developed with his parents, Maria and Michael, and his friendship with the islander’s late son, Arthur.

Cave’s son and stylist, Susie, Arthur, died in 2015 at the age of 15 after taking hallucinogenic drugs and falling off a cliff near his home in Sussex.

He was badly injured and later died, although he was taken to the nearby Royal Sussex Hospital.

Commenting after an Instagram follower asked his wife to detail the big difference between him and her husband, Cave admitted that Luca’s parents were constantly there as they dealt with their son’s devastating loss.

He wrote: “The main difference between Susie and me right now is that she is looking at Love Island and I am not. Susie watches Love Island because we know one of the contestants, Luca. Luca was a schoolmate of our twins Arthur and Earl.

“As a result, Susie and I became friends with Luca’s parents, Maria and Michael. Maria is an antiques dealer. Michael is a fisherman. Luca is also a fisherman ».

He added: “In the early days of that terrible and chaotic first week after Arthur died, Mary was at the door with a tray of lasagna in her hand and almost took care of us. She didn’t talk much to us. She made us a few cups of tea. She cooked it for us. She was just there.

“In a time of fear and confusion where so many desperate and compassionate people came and went, that was the only constant. We will never forget his kindness. Even in the first week, when the world was suddenly and shockingly defined by indescribable and distorted brutality, Maria reminded us that there is good in the world.

“It was also a lesson in how to deal with bereaved people – you don’t have to say anything, just do something; Make them a tea, cook for them.’

Cave admitted that Luca’s kind-hearted parents still provided them with free food, and for their unending kindness, he and Susie wanted Luca to win the current Love Island franchise.

He wrote: ‘Michele even today brings fresh fish to our house, starts it and leaves without a word. She pretends to make us pay, but we know she didn’t. These people are Luca’s parents, the best people you can get, and they love their son, Luca.

“So Susie is looking at Love Island and cheering her up hoping she wins. I also hope that Luca wins soon because then I will get that damn TV back.
