Cinema has become popular, against all odds.
Vladimir Vdovichenkov admitted that he received only $1,500 for his role in the cult film Boomer.
The actor said that the budget of the future hit was limited, and the producers of the film did not hope for all-Russian glory. However, as a result, the film became a cult film and Vdovichenkov made a name for himself through the role of the legendary bandit Cat. Director David Shneiderov explained how the low-budget film managed to win the hearts of the audience.
“The secret to Boomer’s success is that it’s made in a language people can understand. The language of curses, blood and violence. This suited the era and the people’s mores at the time. But I don’t consider “Boomer” to be a work of art. This is truly a phenomenon of gangster cinema. The photo was to the taste of the Russians, who brandished a glass of vodka, grabbed axes and went to rob the nearest stall,” David Shneiderov explained to PopCornNews.
