Keith Urban shares intimate details of his marriage to Nicole Kidman

Rocker Keith Urban talked about his 15-year marriage to Australian actress Nicole Kidman.

Speaking with Jessica Rowe about the podcast series The Big Talk Show this week, Keith, 54, insisted the two were “as normal as you”.

He also talked about meeting them for the first time at the G’Day LA event in 2005, saying that he thought the gorgeous Hollywood star was “out of his league”.

“We’re just a couple trying to figure things out, trying to live together, living life and supporting each other in the best possible way and trying to grow our family,” explains Keith.

“Anyway, we’re as normal as possible, I guess.”

“She wasn’t in a great place,” she said when she met Nicole at the G’Day LA event in 2005.

“We’re just a couple that gets things right, lives things together, gets through life and supports each other in the best possible way and trying to grow our family,” Keith said on Jess Rowe’s podcast The Big Talk Show.

“I wasn’t in a great place in my life, I was struggling with so many things, in a million years no one would see anything like this in me… It’s amazing that this is how it should be.”

He also sweetly described his wife as “spiritual, angelic, otherworldly, very mystical and therefore totally sober and very funny”.

In December, 54-year-old Nicole told the Today program that while the couple seemed to be in a perfect relationship, they were not a “model couple.”

Today’s entertainment broadcaster Richard Wilkins again suggested that 54-year-old Nicole and Keith are “the pin-up couple that works” in Hollywood.

Nicole corrected him, saying, “We don’t want to be a pin-up couple.” We just want to be a couple with a great life together”.

He added that because every relationship is different, his and Keith’s marriage should not be viewed as an archetype.

They are not perfect! In December, 54-year-old Nicole told the Today program that while the couple seemed to be in a perfect relationship, they were not a “model couple.”

“Everyone has the right to their own relationship. We’re just too protective of our little bubble. “What works for us works for us.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Richard asked Nicole how she and Keith reconciled family life with their work schedules.

“We’re going to be working alone… We’ll literally just sit down—like most couples do—and say, ‘Okay, here’s the schedule. What are we gonna do? Well, it’s too much.'”

Nicole added that they have reached a stage in their marriage where they can see if a certain commitment will affect their relationship, and they will decide not to make it happen.

“It’s about our family and how we’re going to run it. Our priority is each other and our children. There is nothing more important than that,” he said.

The couple has two daughters, Sunday Rose, 13, and Faith Margaret, 10.

Nicole and Keith married in 2006, five years after divorcing Isabella, 28, and Connor, 26, from actor Tom Cruise.
