On Saturday, the Rolling Stones dedicated their Hyde Park concert to the late drummer Charlie Watts.
The band paid tribute to the much-loved musician at their first concert in London without him.
The drummer died in August 2021 at the age of 80, surrounded by family and friends.

According to Music-news.com, the band’s lead singer Mick Jagger paid tribute to Charlie just before the band played Tumbling Dice.
He said: ‘It’s great to be here. We met a Wembley drummer, Charlie Watts, in 1962.
“And unfortunately this is our first time to London without him. That’s why we want to dedicate this show to Charlie”.
The musician also spoke about the joy of the band’s return to the capital, and thanked fans for coming to Hyde Park during the national rail strike.

Mick Jagger said, “It’s great to be here. We met a Wembley drummer, Charlie Watts, in 1962. And unfortunately this is our first time in London without him.”
He said are you okay. Coming home to London is great. I know it’s not easy to come here. I really want to thank you for your effort to get everyone here.
“And I want to welcome anyone from out of town like the Midlands, I know there are people from the north of England and overseas.”
Mick arrives after paying tribute to Charlie, who had his 81st birthday earlier this month.
The singer took to her Instagram Story with a black and white photo of herself and her bandmate with the caption “Happy Birthday Charlie / We miss you”.

Celebrating his birthday on Wednesday, guitarist Ronnie Wood remembered his “twin twin” Charlie with a triple photo.
The musician wrote on his album on Instagram: “Today I commemorate my twins, dear Charlie, on his birthday. I miss you [sic]†
Meanwhile, Keith Richards, co-founder, guitarist, secondary singer, and co-writer of the Rolling Stones songs, “Happy Birthday, Charlie Watts!” He shared a heartfelt photo with his words.
Keith recently compared the band’s relationship to marriage when explaining how the band lasted so long.

‘And of course that’s about it – oh my God! You’ve been used to each other for sixty years.
‘The special thing about being part of a well-prepared group is that you know others so well that you can predict to some extent what will happen. †
