Caroline Blanchard, who appeared in DIY SOS, was forced to shut down the survival machine of two of her relatives.

The single mother spoke candidly about the unimaginable and heartbreaking decision after losing her seven-year-old daughter and her husband years later.

In the Tuesday (June 21) episode of the BBC show, Caroline, who lives with her two children, Reece and Paige, was banned from entering two rooms in her home due to painful memories they triggered.

7-year-old Natasha was playing on a mini scooter and accidentally bumped into a closet while her father, Paul, came home to get a helmet.

Unfortunately, her condition deteriorated rapidly and she was rushed to the hospital.

“I just remember the surgeon came and told me I was bleeding so much he couldn’t stop it,” Caroline shared in tears on DIY SOS.

Doctors broke the devastating news to Caroline and her husband Paul, explaining that Natasha needed to be removed from life support.

Unfortunately, she died in hospital two days after the accident and sadly Father Paul was overcome with guilt.

The couple struggled to come to terms with their loss and Caroline explained that her husband, who adored their children, had lost the “spark” in his eyes.

Paul was suffering from health problems and went to the hospital 22 times, but doctors told him each time that his pain was caused by anxiety.

In 2016, just days after complaining of chest pain, tragedy struck again when Paul went into cardiac arrest at home in front of his wife and daughter.

Paul was alive for ten days before Caroline was forced to go through hell again and shut it down.

He explained to host Nick Knowles that they didn’t want to move because there were too many fond memories in their home.

In April 2020, the team only took five days to redesign the house and give Caroline, Reece and Paige a fresh start.
