Deadline: There are already many of these monsters Great personHow did you come up with the most?
Kelly Galuska: This is something very funny ᲐHuman resources; The amount of emotions and feelings people have is endless. So there’s always more to explore, but Lovebugs and Logic Rock were the first we started with. After all, the show is about love more than anything else, which is why our path is with love bugs. But as we went on, the stories we decided to tell often sprang from them with new characters. For example, we wanted to do this episode about death and finally this episode about pain. So it made sense that such a strong emotion had to be played in the character, and we took it from Kitty Griffith, who is so beautifully played by Henry Winkler. She is a comfortable sweater for men, so she was lucky.
Deadline: I wonder how this character developed because he starts out as a very sorry character and then gets more aggressive because he gets overlooked.
Galuska: Completely. In the room we talk very deeply about our lives and this is very much that puts an end to the show. Let’s talk about how terrible the pain is, because when you pay attention to it, then you have to have these bad feelings and you have to think about this deep sadness that you will have, or that you already have. So, in the world of animation, we can show that if you ignore the pain, the pain gets bigger and worse. But in the end, pain is what you were from the start, what comforts you and what brings you to a terrible situation, not what makes it worse. So it evolved to make this sensitive creature grow and shrink.
Deadline: This episode with Kate in grief, “It’s Nearly Over”, is what was chosen to talk about Emmy. What made this episode so special for you?
Galuska: I think this is a very personal episode in the room for many of us. I have dealt with a grandfather with Alzheimer’s and many other writers in our room have experiences of dementia in their families. For me, the show started with birth and the desire to show all life and the upcoming end of the season showed beauty in death and life. What matters is how we show Yara’s point of view, the woman who lived through it, and how complete she was as a person. I often think that when we think of the elderly, we don’t think about how this person was once a child.
This was a woman he loved passionately and had an extraordinary life. I think showing her full personality is something we’re all proud of. And, in fact, the sign of this love presented by Walter Lovebag, which he passed on to his nephew after her death, simply shows that when people leave, they are not really gone.
