Kate Bush shared her excitement after 1985’s Run Up That Hill topped the US charts after appearing in Stranger Things.
The 63-year-old singer admitted that she “never felt anything like this” after her song “really enjoyed” on Netflix’s sci-fi series.
After going viral on TikTok and hitting the charts again in several countries, Kate’s debut single hit the top five in the US.

Running Up That Hill peaked at number four on the US charts nearly four decades after its release, and the single reached only number 30 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
The popular tune also reached number one in Norway and Austria, and Hounds Of Love reached number one on Billboard’s chart of the best alternative albums in the United States.
Talking about the milestone reached, Kate said, “It’s all so exciting! Since the last post, “Running Up That Hill” has hit #1 in Norway and Austria.
“This is great news and we heard today that it went from #8 to #4 in the United States.

The music video, directed by David Garfath, has had 67.6 million views on YouTube, an increase of nearly 15,000 from the previous week, up from 56.5 million at the end of May.

Talking about the song’s success, Sony Music Publishing’s Wende Crowley previously said that Stranger Things music supervisor Nora Felder was discussing using the song as a pre-pandemic pre-pandemic for Max’s song.
He said he wanted to make sure this was possible before including the Duffer Brothers in the idea, as the song would be “a central point in Max’s plan.”
“Kate Bush is picky about licensing her music, so we made sure to put together script pages and footage for her to review so she can see exactly how the song will be used.”

Show manager Nora said she chose the song because it resonated with Max’s grief and loss.
“I think it got on a nerve for a lot of people because it really touches on the alienation and emotional struggles many of us have had at some point in our lives, especially as teenagers,” he told US reporters.
Nora asked Kate for permission to use it, but was nervous about the response as the singer had a reputation for being picky about how her music was used. But she was already a fan of the series and happily accepted she.
