Keanu refused to fully participate in the promotion of the film. Instead of pressing tour, he agreed with Universal Pictures that his role would be searched if possible, and he does not have to give an interview and talk to the contract for at least a year.
The film was waiting for a failure. According to the results of the premiere weekend, the “observer” has become the most failure at the American cash register since the 1980s. Critics made the image and Reeves received an anti -cracking “Golden Raspberry” as the worst second plan actor.
This period was difficult for Keanu. His group Dogstar broke up and new successes only came up with a return to the “Matrix”. Been parts came out in 2003 and collected large quantities at the cash register, although they caused disputes about the acting of Reeves.
This was not followed by standard projects, including the animation film by Richard Linker, “Clouding”, who did not collect a large cash register, but loved the critics. Reeves even shot his own film about martial arts “Master Thaiji”.
However, he had to wait ten years until the real triumph – and he came with John Wick. The film unexpectedly became a hit, turned into a franchise and returned Kean Reeves to the top of Hollywood. The total reimbursements of the series exceeded a billion dollars, prior to new sequel, and even the Dogstar Reeves Group plays together again.
