The last part of the cult-horror franchise “The Spell” not only left the audience with experiences for the fate of the Warrenes, but also with an intriguing post-tisty surprise and a scene that became a kind of farewell and at the same time gave a reason for new discussions between fans.

After the last agreement of the main story of the public, the epilogue is met by a frame, where the photo of Ed Warren appears next to the famous “sworn mirror”, one of the most recognizable artifacts from the collection of spouses. This is not just another mystical feature – De Spiegel connects the entire series and serves the most important motif that goes through the entire “last rite”.

Furthermore, the scene in documentary: real family photos, home videos and archive recordings with Ed and Lorrain Warren appear on the screen.

We are again reminded that all stories actually form the basis of real investigations and truly existing people (many of whom are still alive).

What does the mirror mean for the entire franchise?

In the “last rite”, the mirror acquires the status of the chief antagonist – a symbol of the eternal danger that the Warren was confronted with. According to the conspiracy, it was this artifact that Lorrein appeared in one of the first things of Ed and Lorrein: De Spiegel threatens their daughter Judy in childhood and returns to their years of life, a last point in their fight against evil.

It is interesting that one of the most recognizable images of the series – the Annabel Doll – is now served as one of the “visions” of the mirror, which connects the storylines of the franchise in one whole.

It is the mirror that becomes a explanation of the name of the entire Saga: it is called a “sworn mirror”, an artifact that was supposedly used in rituals to challenge spirits. This revelation not only adds meaning to the name, but also reconsidered the entire cycle – the “spell” is now not only about individual stories, but about the artifact that has become the center of attraction of the supernatural.

Interesting is that the mirror did not play so big in the Biography of the Warren, as shown in the film.

However, the Artefact itself is really stored in their occult museum in Monroe, Connecticut, and is considered one of the most dangerous exhibitions.

In Kinopoisk, the “Last Rite” modest 6.5 fans clearly expected more of the final. But in the United States, critics react much warmer and predictions for meetings for the first weekend are mentioned one of the best for the entire series.
