The fresh “Dracula” from Luke Besson had just reached European cinemas, but had already succeeded in becoming famous as one of the most important financial disappointments of the year.

With a budget of 40-45 million euros, the film barely scraped a little more than five million dollars at the World Box Office – even Christoph Waltz in Caste and the legendary Danny Elfman as a composer did not save.

In the middle of the plot is a tragic love story between Count Dracula and Princess Elizabeth. Returning from the war, Vlad learns about the death of his wife, a fight with God and swears all living things to see his beloved one day again. Four hundred years later, Dracula finds its Elizabeth – now under the guise of mines.

The premiere of the film in France took place on July 30, and in Russia the “Dracula” will not be released until September 11. But based on the catastrophic reimbursements in Europe, miracles do not have to wait for wonders: even when the Russians suddenly go to the cinema for the Sake of Caleb Landry Jones and the atmosphere of the Gothic Melodrama, Filuten of the film, filuden of the film do not shine. By the way, I didn’t even reach the American rent of Dracula – and it is not a fact that he would get at all.

With all due respect for Besson, one can only wonder who and why the director still gives such budgets.

In the Kinopoisk, the rating of the film is slightly higher than the average: only 6.4 out of 10. Abroad, the rating is even worse: 2.9/5 on letterbox and 6.3/10 on IMDB.
