In July a new thriller started at the cash register “I know what you did last summer.”

The film is a continuation of the famous story of 1997 and gives the public back to the atmosphere of the city of Saoutport, where old events launch a new chain of tragedies.

About the movie:

  • Genres: horror, thriller, detective
  • Budget: $ 18 million
  • World costs: $ 64 million
  • Movie Polen Rating: 5.6
  • With in the lead: Madlin Clein, Chase Sui Wonders, John Hauer-King, Tyric Withers, Sarah Pidjon, Freddy Prince Ml., Jennifer Love Huguitittit

Five friends are involved in a tragic accident. An attempt to hide what happened leads to the fact that after a year someone starts to take revenge: participants in the incident received ominous messages and new murders take place in the city. To understand what is happening, the heroes seek help from Ray Bronzon and Julie James, who survived the events of the original film.

What was shown after the credits

The final of the film seems to place a point – but not entirely. Karl Wilson (Brandy), the heroine of the continuation of 1998, appears in the scene after the credits. Karl looks at the news about the new events in the Sautport. At that moment Julie James (Jennifer Love Hughitt) comes to her and shows the old photo in which their faces are recruited – a clear signal that the danger has not yet expired. The last dialogue of Karl and Julie refers to the possibility of continuous history.

From a commercial point of view, the new “I know what you were doing last summer” were successful: with a budget of $ 18 million, the world costs amounted to 64 million. The film was bearing fruit and brought the makers a net profit, despite the highest figures of the public and critics. Against this background, the appearance of a scene after credits with an open hint of continuation is a completely justified step: another chance to earn on a horror-non stroke, which the studio will probably not miss.
