What happened many years ago has survived several generations of anime train and at the same time the popularity remains at the same time.
The leader of the race is an old type of classic
According to the newsletter Anime Through The FiguresIn the first half of 2025, Netflix users looked anime in a total of 4.4 billion hours – 11.3% more than in the previous six months. The growth rate was 10 times higher than that of other content on the platform.
The absolute leader was “Naruto: Hurricane Chronicles” (Naruto: Shippuden) with 40 million views. In second place is the collection of films of the Ghibli studio (39 million), and the third rule was shared by Pokemon and Detective Conan (38 million each).

Interesting is that most views did not fall on the original Netflix projects. Of the 25 most popular anime of the first half of the year, only five exclusive service turned out to be, and not one of them was exactly removed by Netflix. The original Netflix -anime tailers were good for less than 20% of the total display time.
