Peter Andre revealed that Brenda Edwards’ statement about her son Jamal’s death encouraged him to talk about drugs with his children Junior and Princess.

The father of four said the conversation with them was “really productive”.

Loose Women reporter Brenda, 53, released a statement last week confirming that Jamal, who died in February, died of cardiac arrhythmia after taking recreational drugs.

He was 31 at the time of his death.

Peter also said it was every parent’s “worst nightmare” and praised Brenda for sharing the news.

He added: “I am so sorry that Brenda and her family are going through this, but I also want to thank her because thanks to her I was able to have a very productive conversation with my children about this incident and especially about recreational drugs.

“I met Jamal and when Princess found out how he died she asked me what recreational drugs are.

“I explained to her and Junior how something you think you’re doing for fun can have really huge consequences and you don’t know how your body will react to those substances.”

Brenda’s statement about Jamal’s death reads: “It’s very important to me that you talk about this because no mother or loved one should go through what Jamal’s sister Tanisha and I have been through ever since: her death. “.

He went on to point out the dangers of recreational drug use.

Brenda warned that “these types of substances are extremely unpredictable,” with only one bad reaction capable of ruining lives.

He also thanked people for their support.

Brenda said, “We can only hope this encourages others to think wisely when faced with similar situations in the future.”
