How did the “pretext” end? Only Olds will remember one of the best series of the 90s

Those who watched TV in the late 90s do not have to remember who Jarod is and from whom he ran all the time.

In the US, the “pretender” was released from September 19, 1996 to 13 May 2000 on the NBC channel and lasted four seasons in the air. In Russia the series was shown on channel one, and in Kinopoisk it still has an assessment of 7.7 – which is generally not surprising. It was one of the best series of the era.

The plot was built around Jarod – a genius that is able to immediately control a profession: from a doctor to a pilot or lawyer. In childhood he was abducted by a certain organization called “Center” and used her own purposes. But Jarod disappears from the center – and goes to the eternal escape and at the same time helps people who were unfairly accused of crimes. At the same time, employees from the center chase him: Miss Parker, psychologist Sydney and computer expert Bruts. Along the way they all try to unravel the dark things of the center and understand how it is connected to the death of Miss Parker’s mother.

It is interesting that the idea of the series was inspired by the true fraudster Ferdinand Valdo Demara, who repeatedly simulated doctors, priests and officers in the mid -20th century.

Regarding the final – everything here is completely negligent. The story officially ended in a series of 4 seasons called “The Inner Sense. Part 2” (“Inner Consciousness. Part 2”), which was released on 13 May 2000. And this is one of the most annoying cliffhangers in the history of television.

This is what: this:

  • The center kidnaps Zoe to force Jarod to stop.
  • Major Charles saves zoe.
  • Jarod goes to the metro, where he tries to stop iteen, who has already activated the bomb.
  • Miss Parker continues to investigate his mother’s fate and Angelo tells her that some answers know Sydney.
  • It appears that Katherine, Miss Parker’s mother, was pregnant with Major Charles – so it was born.
  • Jarod, Iten and Miss Parker can be found at the metro station – and at that time an explosion is being heard.

Everything ends. The audience left many questions, but gave no answer.

After the series was closed on the NBC, TNT shot two television transfers:

  • “Pretent: 2001” – premiere on January 22, 2001.
  • “Pretent: The Island of the Ghosts” – the premiere on December 10, 2001.

Both films tried to develop the plot, but none of them set a point in the history of Jarod.

In 2008, one of the makers of the Craig series of Sikl said:

“Stephen Long Mitchell and I are ready to create the logical conclusion of the” pretender “when the television company shows interest.”

Since then, more than 15 years have passed, but no news about the continuation has never appeared.

The result is this: the series ended in half a word. Jarod, Miss Parker, Iten-All stayed in the epicenter of the explosion, and the public with the same question with which they started: who is still such a pot and how will his story end? They gave no answer. And it seems that they will never give.
