The fifth season of Yellowstone ended in December 2024 and it was a point of one hundred percent.
Despite the fact that Paramount advertised the episode as the “final of the season”, and not the whole story, the last little doubt left: the main character was dead, the ranch was sold, the family Brak. But the most important thing is that the show carefully cleared the way to the new spin-offs, which the studio is already preparing for the exit.
This is how it ended:
- John Datton (Kevin Costner) – Dead. He was killed by mercenaries and organized suicide. The reason is simple: the actor a fight with show grant and refused to return.
- Betting and Casey think John’s body And they start their own research and suspected the death of his brother Jamie.
- Casey is looking for the opening of the body And with the help of military tires, he finds the customer of the murder.
- Beth eventually kills Jamie After a failed attempt at your life.
- Yellowstone Ranch sold at a symbolic price Indian tribe. Casey continues to live in a small area with his family, Beth and RIP moving to a new small farm.
- Flashbeks reminded of “1883” -The ancestors of the Datons once promised that the earth would return to the indigenous peoples after seven generations. Now this happened.
Key series of the fifth season:
- Episode 48 – The death of John Datton is staged as suicide.
- Episode 49 – Beth suspected Jamie of ordering the murder.
- Episode 50 – The autopsy confirms the murder, Sarah (Lover or Jamie) is eliminated.
- 51 Episode – Casey goes to the murder coordinator.
- 52 -series – Sell cattle and ranch ownership.
- 53 Episode – The country is sold to the tribe, Beth tries to kill Jamie.
- 54 -series (“Life Is A Promise)) – Jamie is dead, the datons go outside, the ranch is occupied by the Indians.
The final increased the line under the heritage of the Daton family. As Beth says in his father’s coffin:
“You asked me to promise that I would not sell the centimeter of this country. I hope you will understand that this is my way of keeping a promise. There will be no cows, but there will also be no condominium. We have won.”
And then she whispers: “I’ll avenge you.”

The last scenes show how the Indian tribe regains the countries, and Beth and Rip are starting a new life in a small ranch in Dillon, Montana. Casey and his wife and son build their little breeding company in the cattle.
The meaning of the final emphasizes the sudden voice behind the scenes – Elsa Datston from “1883”:
“141 years ago my father was told about this valley and we stayed here seven generations. But it is impossible to possess real country. It can only be deformed, built up. And the wild country will always find a way to return to those who paid for their lives.”
The circle was closed: the trunk has again the earth and the descendants of the Dattons stepped aside.
What now?
- There will be no official sixth season. The series is over.
- Confirmed spin-off / continuation with Kelly Riley (Beth) And Cole Hauser (RIP).
- The development of another spin-off under the working name “Madison”Of Michelle Pfeiffer.
- The universe already contains prequels “1883” And “1923”The latter continues.
Taylor Sheridan himself (maker of the show) himself does not exclude the continuation:
“Taylor can find out how to continue if he wants to. This is just a matter of his desire as a screenwriter,” said Cole Hauser.
So although Yellowstone has officially ended, the history of the Universe Net – and Paramount will clearly not end the most profitable franchise in the history of cable -TV.
