James Gann has already been released “Superman” – and the details of how he appeared with the film.
During a recent meeting with fans in London, Gann remembered that he could take this superhero in 2018. But then he said no. Moreover, the point was not in creativity – but in Henry Caville and Tom Chaos, Die Warner Bros. Then arranged his superman.
Gann explained:
“When I was first offered to put Superman in 2018, I refused. I was afraid because of the task itself. I wasn’t sure how to approach this. Plus, Superman was not easy then.”
“Not easy” – this is still said mildly.

Then Cavill was still officially considered the performer of the role, but the studio was clearly looking for how he lost his, not to be involved in a direct confrontation – and, as the GANN expressed it, “the situation around the character was too toxic.” That is why he chose another project:
“It would be politically dirty. That is why I refused and took the” suicide team ” – it was a team that I felt much freer about. And I am glad it did – it was fun.”
A few years later, when Dceu finally fell apart, Warner Bros. Back to Gann – already with a proposal to write a new version of history. Then he agreed.
“But all this time I thought of the” Superman. “This thought did not go away:” How would I do it? What would it be? How do you make it understandable and important for the viewer today? “At a certain point I realized that I can probably do it. That’s why, when they proposed three years ago to write another script, I said yes.”
So GANN became an architect of the new DC film flow, and his “Superman” with David Rorepewell in the title role can already be seen in cinemas.
