Lucasfilm prepares the restart of the Indiana Jones franchise. There is no official announcement yet, but according to the authoritative Insider Resource the Disinsider, the project has already been launched. According to sources, Lucasfilm “lets the brand rest a bit before he returns with a new version – with another actor, a different style and, probably, a different tone. It is expected that the Invest will be officially announced this year at the D23 exhibition at the end of August.
The decision was brewing for a long time. “Indiana Jones and the Wheel of Fate”, published in 2023, cost Disney $ 329 million, and raised $ 384 million around the world, taking into account marketing, this is at least $ 130 million.
Critics called the film a passing film, and even director James Mangold admitted: the audience just didn’t want to see how 81-year-old Harrison Ford walks again after the relics.
Ford finally said goodbye to the role. An attempt to build a continuation of the heroine Fibi Waller-Bridge failed at the level of discussions. The idea with Chris Pratt in the role of young Indie has also disappeared. And now – a break, which will of course follow the restart.
