Another continuation is on the way: Pixar removes “Ratatui 2”

Almost twenty years after the release of Ratatuya, Pixar started the development of the continuation – the project is at an early stage, but according to industrial insiders the work is already underway.

Journalist Jeff Snyder said in the Podcast The Hot Mic that the studio launched a sequel to production. Previously, rumors about a possible continuation were refused, but since then a lot of time has passed – and Pixar finally changed the course.

“Ratatui 2” becomes part of the new studio strategy, which is increasingly based on proven franchises. The puzzle 2 raised $ 1.7 billion on the World Box Office, prior to the “History of Toys 5”, “Super Jilids 3”, “The Secret of Coco 2”. Pixar gambles seriously on the past.

This makes sense from a commercial point of view. The last original films of the studios – “Elementary”, “Forward”, “Luke”, “I blush” – did not fail, but not one repeated the effect of “Zoropolis”, “Vall · and even” Coco “. The barely released Elio failed completely on the Kassa.

And everything would be good if we were talking about secondary titles. But “Ratatuy” is a special case.

The film Brad Berd in 2007, many consider the PEX of Pixar – gracefully made from the point of view of the visual, modest in emotions, built on trust in the spotlight. Every attempt to return to this world can easily devalue the original. Given that Berd has not yet been confirmed in the follow -up team, the question arises: will they be able to retain the same mood without his participation?
