Amazon MGM confirmed at night: the next film about James Bond is set by Denis Villewev. This will be the first tape around 007 without the participation of the Brockoli family – and the first band without Daniel Craig in the last 20 years.
The director of De Duinen, Arrival and “Running Blade 2049” said he had been dreaming about this project for a long time:
“Some of my earliest memories of the cinema are associated with the band. I have watched these films with my father, starting with Dr. Nou.” I am a fan of Bond to the Brain of Bones. For me it is a holy territory. I want to keep a tradition and make the road for new missions. This is also a big responsibility. “
Villewev’s choice is a sharp change in the course. For almost 60 years, the Brockeli family checked everything that was related to 007 and he avoided traditional directors with the style of a clear author. Steven Spielberg was refused twice. Christopher Nolan and Quentin Tarantino didn’t even get a chance. Only in the Craig era was an exception made: Sam Mendes was allowed to shoot Skyfall and Spectrum, but even then was only set by Martin Campbell after the start of the series.

With the departure of Broccoli, Amy Pascal (“Challengers”, “Venom”) and David Hayman (“Gravity”, “Barbie”) will be busy producing. It was they who chose Villewev for various applicants, including Edgar Wright and Jonathan Nolan. According to Deadline, it was Villenev who offered them a convincing concept of Bond or Tomorrow.
It is still unknown how much the new version of the hero will go away from the previous one. Under the cruiser, the films became gloomy and more serious, especially for the final – where Bond dies to save a woman and a child. Many critics and viewers considered this a deviation from what the franchise is generally held for.
Tom set by Villene in other projects is gloomy, large scale, often without irony. “Dun” and “prisoners” are powerful films, but they are not associated with the ease that is inherent in the best parts of “Bond”. As one of the observers noted:
“He can make a movie in the spirit of Skyfollah. But he can make something that would stand on the same hand with the Goldfinger or” Spy Who Loved Me “is an open question.”
