John Bernal will officially return to the statue of the Punisher in the new film about Spider-Man- “Absolute New Day”, which will be released in the summer of 2026. This will be the first appearance of the character on the big screen in the past eighteen years.
Berntal first appeared as a Punisher in the second season “Daredevils” on Netflix, and then received a solo series, where his character became one of the most gloomy and stiff in the Marvel line. After the closure of Netflix projects, the heroes have disappeared from the radars for a long time like a daredevil and the Punisher, but now they are already returning in the context of a full cinema -populated cinema.
At the beginning of this year, both characters appeared in the “Service: Born Again” – and Marvel will apparently not stop there.
It is still unknown what role De Punisher will play in the history of Peter Parker, but the choice is clear: after the events “there is no way home”, where the whole world was forgotten who Peter is, the spider was left without allies, without money and without connections.
Everything indicates that the new film will be more “street” – without multi -size and space. So the Punisher here is free in place.
The script was written by Chris McCanna in collaboration with the director of the Daniel Creton (Shang Chi) project. Tom Holland, Zendai and Jacob Batalon will return to the role, and sink from “very strange things” and Lisa Colon-Zayas of the “Bear” under the newcomers-Sadie. The premiere is planned for July 31, 2026.
