“Gangsterland” Guy Richie extended for season 2: Tom Hardy will return

The first season came out at the start of the year and soon became a hit.

Paramount+ officially ordered the second season of “Gangsterland” – the criminal series by Guy Richie with Tom Hardy in the title role. The decision was no surprise: according to Streaming, 26 million spectators watched the first season.

The series talks about the confrontation between two Mafia clans, and in the first season Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, Paddy Considine and Helen Mirren were responsible for the intensity of events. Their return to the second season has not yet been confirmed, but Hardy has already been explained as part of the Casta of the new season.

The project united different loud names at the same time: the show was made by Ronan Bennett, Isa Battterort, Gai Richie himself produced. According to Paramount, Chris McCarthy, the success of the show was “the merit of a powerful creative team and actors who turned history into an event of a world scale.”

“26 million spectators continue to grow. The series not only became a hit in the US, but also in international charts, which achieved first place in the UK,” noted McCarthy.

The second season will be released on Paramount+, but neither the date of filming, nor plot details have been announced. It is only known that Richie and Hardy stay among producers. The actor himself recently admitted that he feels the consequences of eternal physical exertion on the set:

“The body slowly hands over,” he said in an interview, recalling Venoma and other action films.

It seems that despite fatigue Hardy is not yet retiring – and Gangsterland is only confirmation.
