The Snow White fell in the cash register, but now it was suddenly rehabilitated – Disney said they were satisfied with the success of the film about streaming.
After the release on Disney+, the restart of the classics of 1937 became unexpectedly popular, despite the fact that in cinemas the image failed with a bang and less collected than the budget.
The film with Rachel Zegler in the title role became one of the most defeated Disney brakees. Everything was criticized on the internet: the appearance of the seven dwarfs, a processed plot, a strange graphics and a gloomy visual palette. The failure of the Snow White was so loud that the studio work on other game brakees.
At the same time, the main star of the project was in the Epicenter of scandals. Rachel Zegler was covered with a wave of unfair criticism and for things she had nothing to do with. The actress was accused of almost the failure of the entire franchise, subject to racist attacks in social networks and attacked her political explanations. At one point, the discussion about the film was generally reduced to the persecution of an actress, although, according to many, she was the most important advantage of all this failed production.

Rachel Zegler really played perfectly. Her Snow White turned out to be sincere and alive, with a real Disney charm. She mainly had musical songs – they were essentially the smartest moments of the film. Rachel has long established herself as a strong actress of musicals: since the time of the Westsaid history of Spielberg, followed by Y2K, Shazam 2 and even “Housing Games”, where she also had vocal scenes. Unfortunately, almost all these films, except the “Ballad of Snakes and Singing Birds”, failed at the Kassa. Moreover, even that film became the weakest in meetings in the entire franchise.
The Snow White cost Disney about $ 269 million and raised only 205 million at the cash register – the studio lost tens of millions, and this does not take marketing costs into account.
Short grades about Snow White:
- Budget: $ 269 million
- Costs: $ 205 million
- Critics assessment on Rotten Tomatoes: 39%
- Viewers view: 70%
