Against the background of the HBO and Netflix High -Profile Premierses, the new fantastic series of Apple TV+ was almost unnoticed – despite the fact that critics already call him one of the best genre new products of the year.
In the Russian rental he received a simple name “Killerbot” (Murderbot), and in Kinopoisk he has a pretty worthy assessment of 7.1.
The project with Alexander Skarsgard in the title role is based on the popular books of Martha Wells and combines Science Fiction with black humor and satire on pop culture. In the center of the plot there is a Cyborg-Guard named Killerbot, who holds its own managing module to get free … and does not spend it on the fight against the system, but on endless view of fictional series, such as “Rastens and traps of the Luna-Substation” -A an obvious parodia.
The series is not afraid to be strange: here are monsters of the level of “Star Landing”, and absurd dialogues and meta-gags. But all this works – thanks to an excellent scenario and a verified balance between action and comedy.
The Killerbot comes out on Friday and ends on July 11. So far, many viewers only discover this series themselves, Western critics call it “one of the most intelligent and ironic science fiction projects in recent years”.
