This year’s Love Island star Tasha Ghouri had secret dates with former Strictly Champion Giovanni Pernice earlier this year.

The 23-year-old met the professional dancer a month after winning the show with deaf actress Rose Ayling-Ellis.

Tasha and Giovanni first connected on Instagram before exchanging private messages on the app.

After some back and forth, the two finally met in January, where the 31-year-old drank wine and dinner for the islander, who is also a dance partner.

However, although Giovanni was “persistent” with Tasha, their quick adventure failed due to his participation in the Strictly tour.

Tasha Ghouri, star of Love Island

A source close to Tasha told the daily mail that Giovanni was persistent when it came to the Love Island star.

They said, “They have a lot in common, they are both dancers and I had just learned a lot about the deaf community while performing with Rose on Strictly, which Tasha really admires.”

The Love Islander was struck by the Strictly star’s chivalry when he took her to London’s best restaurants.

Giovanni also offered to send cars to pick up Tasha, but she still decided to go out of her way to see him as she is independent.

The source continued: “Their romance didn’t go on as Giovanni traveled a lot with the Strictly tour and Tasha was already involved with someone else.”

MailOnline reached out to Love Island reps and Giovanni for comment.

She’s not the only celebrity Tasha has been with in the past, as the dancer also dated Too Hot To Handle Netflix contestant Robert Van Tromp three months before heading to the mansion.

Although Robert spent time in America, the duo decided to see other people.

Tasha almost reveals to her fellow islanders that she was once with Giovanni after the Italian bombing Davide Sanclimenti raided the villa.

He said: “I’ve already dated an Italian and it’s not for me.”

Giovanni may not have courted her, but he got a lot of praise for his famous former dance partner, Rose, before she entered the mansion.

Tasha called the champion a “role model” as she was the first deaf contestant to appear on the BBC dance show.

She said: “I also love Strictly because I’m a dancer and what she did was so beautiful and sent a powerful message. She also represents me, the deaf community and herself.”

“We follow each other on Instagram but we haven’t really spoken to each other correctly, but we hope that after the show it will be great to meet her and share our experiences and stories because she seems like an incredible person.”
