Murderous clowns, maniacs and rivers of blood.
In early October, the third part of the popular horror franchise about the maniac clown Art, “Horrifying 3”, will be released on Russian cinema screens. Unlike the first two films, which are set on Halloween, this time Art goes hunting on Christmas Eve and has prepared the most terrible gifts.
If you are a fan of bloody horror and slasher movies, then our selection is for you. We have collected 10 great horror movies that you can watch while waiting for a new movie, or right after.

One of the strengths of the Terrifying franchise is its unusual villain. Clown Art has scared thousands of viewers around the world and continues to do so. But the films in our selection can also boast good slasher villains. For example, some horror fans point to Gerdy the Clown from 100 Tears as Art’s role model.
In addition to the charismatic villain, The Terrorist features massive rivers of blood, and if you like gory horror films, then you should definitely check out the movie Evil Dead: The Black Book. The film was directed by Uruguayan director Fede Alvarez, who you may know from the recent box office hit Alien: Romulus.
And if clowns don’t scare you too much after Art, give the 2018 film “Them” a try. Under the guise of clowns, there are no clowns at all, but some are scarier, and the plot of the film is more twisted.
By the way, the film was directed by a directing duo, Scott Beck and Brian Woods. Since they worked as screenwriters on the A Quiet Place franchise, they know what horror is and how to scare the viewer. In addition, another horror film of theirs will be released in November – “The Heretic” with Hugh Grant in the title role.
