Streaming finally has every chance to shine in the upcoming awards season.
While Netflix may not be the strongest competitor when it comes to high-profile films vying for awards glory, the streaming service actually has the ability to “send” one of its projects far beyond its platform this time around — and viewers will be able to appreciate the film very soon. Azazel Jacobs’ family drama “His Three Daughters,” starring Natasha Lyonne and Elizabeth Olsen, hits theaters on September 20 — and given the film’s overwhelming critical success, more attention is certainly guaranteed.

The plot of “His Three Daughters” revolves around three sisters who return to their parents’ home to care for their elderly father. Realizing that the moment of parting is near, all three want to spend as much time with their father as possible, but the already tense relationship between the sisters is further complicated when old grievances surface.
The more the sisters spend in their parents’ home, the more they see the enormous gulf that separates them – especially considering that one of them, Rachel, was born into a different marriage from her father and looks nothing like the sisters.

Even before its official premiere on Netflix, ‘His Three Daughters’ managed to stun critics and make money 99% rating based on nearly 80 reviews. There is no audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes yet, but given all the enthusiasm from industry professionals, it should be easy for the film to earn top ratings from audiences.
