TalkTV reporter and host Piers Morgan often shares her controversial thoughts on Twitter, but has spoken out against fans who defended Meghan Markle after making a comment about her.
Piers Morgan got a backlash after tweeting about Meghan Markle during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
After the traditional Trooping the Color ceremony, Piers took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the day’s celebrations.
The 57-year-old posted a photo of Prince Louis with his hands over his ears as the RAF flight passed overhead, causing him to frown in displeasure.
The royal family was standing on the Buckingham Palace balcony when the planes were displayed, and Piers shared some snapshots of the moment.
He posted them to his 7.9 million Twitter followers and joked, “Was that when Aunt Meghan showed up?”
The controversial reporter ended his comment with laughing emojis, but followers did not receive any of his abusive comments.
One wrote that he was “out of step with the nation”, while another urged him to “stop projecting his obsession”.
Another tweeted: “You have to let go this has become an unhealthy crush.”
One witty user also joked that Louis “reproduced Piers’ anger whenever Meghan Markle’s name was mentioned.”
However, some joined Piers saying it was to be “the funniest tweet of this year, by far”.
The TalkTV host, whose show has failed to attract a decent following in recent weeks, responded to fans who called him in jest.
Speaking to the New York Post, he said: “The huge reaction to my tweet perfectly sums up the public opinion of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Most people laughed because they are now the laughing stock of the world after their self-righteous antics of accumulate money and attack the royals “.
The reporter went on to say: “The dwindling number of awake and duped fans of Meghan and Harry were once again furious, as they sincerely believe the Sussexes are the biggest victims in the world.”
He later claimed the opinion, “like his tweet”, was “hilarious”.
Meghan and Harry arrived in the UK with their children Archie and Lilibet ahead of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations and made their first appearance on Thursday 2nd June.
