Critics have discovered the secret of success.
Despite the plethora of villains in Matt Reeves’ Batman, none could top the cunning yet charismatic Penguin.
Fans were hardly surprised when they heard that the hero was getting his own series.
Therefore, high ratings from professional reviewers should not raise any questions. This does not mean that the project is without shortcomings, but the advantages definitely outweigh the disadvantages.

The show has a 90% rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, and there are several reasons for that.
The first is a suspenseful plot in the style of “The Sopranos.” Much like the show’s motto—fight until you dominate others—Craig Zobel’s work delves into the nature of power and its consequences.
The second is the controversial protagonist, brilliantly played by Colin Farrell.
“Throughout the story, Oswald Cobblepot inspires sympathy and makes you fall in love, but never lets you forget his ruthlessness,” Empire noted.
According to early viewers, a well-developed script, a strong cast and an engaging atmosphere created an irresistible cocktail of emotions, but unfortunately it was not without its flaws.

In some episodes, the discussion of mafia politics is dull, and the scenes in Arkham are so cartoonish that they barely fit into the gritty realism of the series.
Otherwise, Lauren Lefranc and team delivered the best crime drama of the year.
Fans can form their own opinion about it tomorrow – September 19.
